Rajasthan trip -Invitation
…This post is part of the Rajasthan Trip series of posts where I record memories and experiences from the trip…
Sharing the invitation mail that I sent out to my friends…
Dated: Feb 28, 2009
Yesterday morning as I logged into my Google Reader to check blog updates; a line in one of the blog there said-
“”"am really happy when few of my friends really have tried to keep in touch, no matter where they are, whatever timezone they are in, but the ones I am referring to are the ones I feel are in front of the computer all the time, or carry a mobile phone with them for 20 hours a day, but still find it hard to use them to keep in touch !”"”
And for a second I thought… I thought that I belong to the second category… Cause I am in front of a computer all the time… and I also carry my mobile phone for 20hrs a day (actually 24 hrs a day. As my cell is there besides me, as I am sleeping, and now have even stopped switching it off!!!)…
But then with natural human nature, I started to defend myself… I am not like this… I love my friends… I miss them… I do talk to them often… I thought I was in touch with everyone, with my blog, photos at Picasa… Not forgetting to keep my Orkut profile updated… I call the numbers in my phone book on a idle weekend and keep on talking for hrs… And each time I call someone, its never like ki “kya chal raha hia… aur bata… aur suna… Aur kya ho raha hai life mein…” n then the same Qs from the other side… and the call ends like… “haan chal fir badme baat karate hai…”
But then I was still feeling uncomfortable… So I checked my cell for the numbers that I have not called in the last 1-2 months… as they say Numbers don’t lie… The results- Approximately, one out of three numbers I have not been able to call [and they did not call me either!!!
]… Again as they say see the glass half full than half empty… I have the glass filled more than half!!!
But yes, I indeed need to call some of them this weekend… Yes, the charm and happiness in getting to talk for hrs… sit chit-chatting for hrs like school-college is now a distant thing… Again true, that these phone calls each time don’t reach the depths like earlier…………………………
Anyways… At least the lines above I read in the yesterday morning have pumped me up to invite you and ask for few days from your life…
This travel plan was thought of last week with a very small sub-set of friends. I actually did not send out this to anyone thinking that I am not sure if you will be able to spend so many days out of office… leaves, other plans, girlfriend(s), boyfriend(s), and now for few their better half, also a couple who are gifted by little angels, budgets, recession, travel tastes, dates, so many days, a relatively hot weather in March, etc. etc. etc.
But then better late than never… So the plan is to visit few places in Rajasthan from 21st to 29th March. (Two Saturdays, 2 Sundays, 27th March is a holiday.)
Apologies, for not sharing this with you earlier… You can hit me this…
But please come to Rajasthan to do the hitting!!! Its still 20 more days to go…
